An American health research institute has described a very comprehensive definition of health in these words.
“Health is the state in which freedom from physical pain and suffering, freedom from selfishness, relief from mental stress, results in prosperity and complete restoration of health.”

Importance of Health Education:
The modern age, is the age of new and unique inventions due to which many mental and psychological problems have arisen along with the progress in human life. Because of new inventions, many facilities are available for us on the one hand, but on the other hand, the quality of human health is decreasing. But the worry, depression and anxiety are the signs of today’s age. They are having adverse effects on human health due to which the functioning of common people is affected. The role of health education is very important for the maintenance of human health, well-being and its development. Health is a great gift of nature. It is the basic responsibility of every person from childhood to protect his health as well as to promote it.
Knowledge about the principles of health can only be gained through health education. In order to be healthy, it is not necessary to know the principles of health education and to follow them, but it is also necessary for ordinary people to get this knowledge.
The need for good health is especially high in emergency situations (accident, disease, earthquake, flood, war). Apart from daily work, a healthy person has to perform different services out side the house in case of emergency. And a healthy person can do this very well.
