TEACHING:

Teaching is a unique and distinct field which has been defined differently by different people. Some people say about teaching that it is an art, while others argue to call it a science. Some might even say that teaching answers questions that students don't know the answers to. Psychologists might say that learning is the conditioning of a response to a stimulus. In fact, the meaning and significance of teaching for different people is the nature of their experiences so they are different for different people.

In simple words we can say that teaching actually is a planning to achieve defined goals and objectives through which we carefully transfer the information to others. It is a way of interacting with which a Learner, learns the knowledge. It is a mean and method of acquiring knowledge in which both the teacher and the learner improve their skills and qualities. With all this background, it is rightly said that teaching is a complex and difficult activity whereby the teacher plays different roles at different times depending on the nature of the situation.

In short, teaching is an activity in which an educated, experienced and knowledgeable person imparts his knowledge and experience to an inexperienced, less educated or uneducated and uninformed student, so that he or she live a successful life by playing a healthy useful reliable role in the future life. We can best describe teaching in terms of its effectiveness because a teacher has to play different roles in the teaching and learning process while performing his/her duties in a session.

Why teaching is a complex and difficult job can be estimated from the following points.

1- Changing Strategies:

A true teacher loves teaching very much, but the problem arises when he feels the need to change teaching strategies due to time and circumstances. It is obvious that while teaching 40 to 80 and sometimes more than a hundred students, it is not possible to meet the mental standards of every student, but one can definitely try. This requires the teacher to change teaching strategies. Also, when the teacher moves from one subject to another subject, he needs to change the teaching strategy.

A teacher does not teach in one class for the full time as it is not the principle of schools. Though the main class of a teacher is specifically one, but he has to go to other classes too and he has to change his teaching strategy there too.

2- Additional Material:

A good teacher is not limited to syllabus and course activities but has to make the student a useful citizen of the society. He has to awaken the dormant potential of the student. He has to prepare the student mentally and physically for the future practical field. He cannot do this in the limited background of the curriculum, so he has to teach the students across a wide range of topics and provide additional learning materials. For this purpose, apart from the textbooks, he searches various books, takes help from the internet and then he is able to enter the class. Students can ask any question during the topic, the answer to this question may not be in the syllabus but the teacher has to answer it according to his knowledge. At the same time, the teacher should try to make the students think within the subject and the syllabus. In this respect too, teaching is complicated for the teacher.

3- Preparing Environment:

Teaching has many simplicities along with difficulties and complications. When a new teacher enters his class, he initially does not understand what he has to teach and how to teach it. Then the students are likely to be mentally unprepared. If this is the case, the teaching environment cannot be created. First of all the teacher has to create an educational and teaching atmosphere. For this, it is necessary for a teacher to be fully aware of the witty, cleverness and teaching strategies, the ability to understand the students' mode, and the ability to change the teaching environment so that he can adapt himself according to the time and situations. Remember that first the teacher adjusts himself according to the environment, then he gradually creates an environment of teaching that motivates the students towards learning. That is his success.

4- Financial Conditions:

An important problem is the financial conditions of the teacher. If the teacher will get less payment for teaching and he will be limited by financial conditions, then psychologically he will not be able to pay full attention to teaching and learning. In the current era, while the inflation may be skyrocketing, the value of the rupee is decreasing, so it is not easy for a teacher to meet his daily needs with a low salary, so the school administration, if they want to get high results from teacher and want the teacher to utilize his skills , has to increase the teacher salary which can meet his needs. Sothat he may be able to fulfill his social responsibilities and can fully focus on his teaching and educational responsibilities without feeling the burden of financial responsibilities. This principle should not be adopted only in the field of teaching but it is needed in every field.

5- Long Time:

The process of teaching is a constant mental and physical effort. Mental work is more tiring than physical work. A teacher is not get free just by teaching in school, he has to go home and prepare the topics for teaching the next day. Without it, the teacher cannot teach the children in the best way. Therefore, the school administration should try to give the teacher some free time so that he can remove his mental and physical fatigue and be ready to fight the practical battle in the field of teaching again. In addition to the school, the teacher spends 4 to 6 hours at home preparing the teaching materials, thus he spends 60 to 70 hours a week, then he has to continue his other activities in the society. If a teacher is free from mental and physical tiredness he can perform more effective role in society. When they get 2.5 to 3 months vacation together. In this way, they get rid of mental exhaustion and also plan the teaching for the next year.

6- Talk on Problems:

Not only new teachers, but sometimes even experienced teachers hesitate to talk about the problems they face for teaching in the classroom and school, they do not tell the management even their fellow teachers about these problems. Teachers should not hesitate to discuss teaching problems and various administrative problems that arise during teaching because if the solution of the problems is beyond their understanding or resources, they should discuss it with there seniors or management for a solution.
